Any idea's on why we are low on Freelanders, otherwise looks like a good entry.
I suppose there's still time for some more. Unlike the BCCC/Trophy there's no incentive for them to enter early.

I gather some crews aren't particularly happy with some aspects of the championship - the new regs, the entry fee relative to the BCCC/Trophy etc.

Sheepie, we did try and manage it better last year. us people on the start try our best. you may have to wait "40" minutes be it at the start or in the pits, but while the freelanders are on track the fast boys are held up for a similar period, (okay may be 25 minutes for them)[10 cars = 10 minutes +15 minutes to complete the course]{25minutes}.

we did not get too much feedback on how we managed the start, was it better for all freelanders to arrive at the start together?

At the end of the day it gets fraught for everyone delayed by mechanical failure and time restraints by which the event closes. At days end we do let the freelanders in either singly or in smaller groups when fewer racers are running.

Come have a chat and we will see what can be done.

Don't always agree with what Ian has to say but this time he's hit the nail on the head.

problem is we all get called down together and at times the girls had only just got back and not even got out of the car let alone checked the car over and the same happened with me a couple of times, we had problems and got told to head down which we couldn't do as we were fixing something but i headed down 30 minutes later and everyone still sat there !!!! another time i got down late to see everyone had already gone in and got told i would have to wait for the next freelander group !!!!!! so I missed a run which i then didn't have time to make up and had to take a max which is unfair( year before i could have slipped in with the main field and made the run up), so the main field have to wait but at least they can do back to back runs anytime they wish (2014 and 2015) we use to be able to without any issues and they have as much time as they wish between runs for breaks and to fix things without being hassled to get down to the start line. At scotland last year I got the freelander crews together on the saturday and we all said one more run and we want a break to have something to eat and check the cars over !!!! even Pat pulled up after a puncture and got told by Selwyn we were all heading down to the start, and having runs cut from the day is not best pleasing either more so this year when you bare in mind that those that entered early pay £2000 for the main championship and trophy class and those in freelanders pay £100 to register and then £325 per round so if you do every round then thats £2050 with a couple of less runs over the weekend and then told when you can go out on stage as not enough freelanders waiting which means we are still racing at the end of the day whilst the main field have fired up their BBQ's and on the sunday at one round most had packed up and gone home before we even started our last run, and at Ceri the girls came home less then happy due to the lack of runs from what they said and others they got half what the main field got.
And before anyone says anything i am not having a go at anyone and as i've said before i know how hard things like this are to run, been a comp sec and club chairman for a local 4x4 club for longer then i care to say, but

The Freelanders did 9 runs at Ceri, the BCCC/Trophy did 11. One less each day. The overall numbers of runs were restricted for everyone due to incidents involving the course having to be stopped and the rescue/recovery going in.
