2017 entrants

Post by Songasport » Mon Feb 06, 2017 23:01

Some names wot have said they'll be entering...
Andy Powell (Walker-Adams)
Andy Degiulio (Milner R5)
Neil Davey + 3 others all in Landranger Yamahas.
Justin Brooks (Yamaha)
Pat Masters (Freelander)
Alex Howard (Freelander but doing Trophy)
Michael Wilson (Freelander)
Bumpy (Lofthouse Evo)
Martin Gould (Buxton 4x4 Rivet)
Richard Coleby + possible mystery guest (Polaris)
Jon Damrel (Trophy if car put back together in time)
Brian Chase (Freelander)
Ian Linford (Freelander - class tbc)
Adam Evans (Can-Am Maverick)
Simon Adams (Can-Am Maverick)
Ian Bartlett (Bartletts 3M 206)
Rob Bool (AT 4x4 Indy Challenger)
Steve Smith (JRG Clio)
Justin Birchall (Lofthouse Freelander)
Paul Myers (Land Rover Tornado)
Ben Duckworth (Milner LRM-1)
Ian & Dan Gibbons (Yamaha)

Between Lilian and myself we've had lots of regs requests from new crews so if a few of those enter + most of last year's crews then it could be heading towards 40 championship entries. And I've already had folk saying they'll be doing round 1 as Clubman too.

I've published a few news articles on http://www.msabccc.co.uk

I've added some more, the Can-Am Maverick team and Ian Bartlett. There are others but I've not had the go ahead to publicise them.

Where is the full list of entrants located? How upto date is the list at the front of this posting?

1. Lilian was collating one but she's not sent me it yet.
2. As up to date as I can make it based on the information I've got. I'm not claiming it's entirely accurate though!

Latest actual entries, which isn't complete as Lilian is still paperwork. There are also some crews who have said they are doing several Clubman rounds rather than the full championship, one crew are doing all of the Clubman rounds (swapping drivers Sat/Sun).

So, looks like the BCCC entry level will be roughly the same as last year, Trophy entries slightly higher and, at the moment, Freelander Challenge entries nowhere near what they were last year.

Martin Gould
Ryan Cooke
Richard Wynne-Williams
Andy Powell
Mark Jacques
Steve Smith
Justin Birchall
Richard Coleby
Paul Myers
Ben Duckworth
Mike Moran
Andy Degiulio
Ian Bartlett
Rob Bool
Justin Brooks
Darren Johnson
Adam Evans
Lee Mansfield
Jon Damrel
Nick Pritchard
Steve Anning
Paul Rowlands
Ashley Jones
Joe Quirk
Pat Masters
Ian Morson
Ian Linford

Any idea's on why we are low on Freelanders, otherwise looks like a good entry.

I suppose there's still time for some more. Unlike the BCCC/Trophy there's no incentive for them to enter early.

I gather some crews aren't particularly happy with some aspects of the championship - the new regs, the entry fee relative to the BCCC/Trophy etc.

Sheepie, we did try and manage it better last year. us people on the start try our best. you may have to wait "40" minutes be it at the start or in the pits, but while the freelanders are on track the fast boys are held up for a similar period, (okay may be 25 minutes for them)[10 cars = 10 minutes +15 minutes to complete the course]{25minutes}.

we did not get too much feedback on how we managed the start, was it better for all freelanders to arrive at the start together?

At the end of the day it gets fraught for everyone delayed by mechanical failure and time restraints by which the event closes. At days end we do let the freelanders in either singly or in smaller groups when fewer racers are running.

Come have a chat and we will see what can be done.
